We use a “double extraction” since mushrooms contain some constituents that are water-soluble, called beta-glucans, and some that are alcohol-soluble, called triterpenes. A double extraction efficiently pulls out these constituents with the added benefit of being shelf-stable! 2 oz. Extracts are in amber glass bottles with a dropper. We recommend that you consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using this product, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications. *This statement has not been evaluated by the FDA. This product is not intended to treat, cure, diagnose, or prevent any disease. Our Process. The first step is to soak the mushrooms in a 195 proof alcohol for 60 days. Next, we strain the alcohol off and boil the mushrooms in water for four hours. They are then placed in a 50/50 mix of water and alcohol for an additional 30 days. The final step is to boil again for four hours. Once the liquid is cooled, it is all combined, and the final alcohol content is brought to 20% to help with shelf life and preserve the tincture.
Reishi is that age-old medicine cited thousands of years ago as being a tonic for emperors. Chinese medicine admires it as a tonic or tea benefiting vital energy or "Qi." Reishi is beneficial and modifies the immune system by increasing it when weakened, or lowering it when it is too active. Reishi has 375 different active compounds that have been reported in studies to have effects including modification of the immune system, anti-tumor, sleep-promoting, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, anti-oxidative, anti-aging and anti-ulcer to name a few. Chaga has been a part of medicine in Russia, Poland, China and numerous countries for many centuries. The health benefits of Chaga are numerous and can be attributed to its immune-boosting ingredients and antioxidants. Chaga contains massive amounts of the black pigment known as melanin that has high antioxidant levels due to a high number of polyphenols. Chaga has the highest ORAC score (the measure of antioxidant potency) of any superfood. Lions Mane has been studied recently for its benefits as a nootropic and research has been focused around the brain-boosting powers. The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry lists the benefits by stating lion’s mane mushroom is “antibiotic, anticarcinogenic, antidiabetic, anti-fatigue, antihypertensive, anti-hyperlipidemic, anti-senescence [anti-aging], cardioprotective, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective, and neuroprotective, and improves anxiety, cognitive function, and depression.” The turkey tail mushroom has long been known in Chinese culture to fight off infection, including the common cold or flu. It has been shown to help your immune system be more resilient to many infections, illness, and diseases. It has also been studied and used for chemo patients to help support the immune system after and before treatment. Turkey tail mushrooms contain B-glucans and polysaccharides. B-glucans provide receptors in the small intestine that get the immune system running at full speed. This power puts the turkey tail mushroom in the adaptogen category providing support to the immune system and stimulating energy levels.
