From the "Boston butt", callie bacon is a fantastic way to enjoy breakfast! Nice, thick pieces fry up wonderfully. Cook it low and slow to let the meat cook in the fat and you will have a glorious breakfast bacon to enjoy on sandwiches - or like us, just eat it right out of the pan because it's irresistable! Packages average 3/4 lb but may vary from .5 to 1 lb. We raise mainly heritage and heritage breed crosses such as Berkshires. Raising only small groups at a time, the pigs are mainly pastured (see photos in our feed!) and enjoy their time growing together rotating through the property in electric netting as well as spending time in the garden and the barn rooting up the compost to make it easier for us to collect up and spread on the hay fields that feed our other livestock. In addition to whatever they care to dig up, our pork have their free fill of a nutritious pig ration locally-milled and locally-bought from our family feed store, and get treats such as spent brewers grains from a local brewery.USA / Michigan / Van Buren County
